Bali News: Record Visitors to Bali Predicted By Year End 2010
(12/4/2010) Confirming an estimate made by Balidiscovery.com in July [See: Foreign Tourist Arrivals Increase in May], the Bali Statistics Bureau is now projecting that Bali will end the year with 2.45 million foreign tourists, easily exceeding the targeted 2.3 million tourists.
Arrivals through the end of October 2010 have reached 2.149 million tourists, an increase of 8.66% when compared to the same period in 2009.
Gede Surasa, who heads the Bali statistics office, said, "with the continuing increase in arrivals, we are optimistic that foreign tourist arrivals will exceed targets."
In 2009 the total foreign tourist visitors to Bali reached 2.149 million, an increase of 8.66% over the previous year. If the predictions for a record 2.45 million tourists is achieved in 2010 that will represent a 14% increase year-on-year.
