Garuda Reports Strong Loads on New Amsterdam Service
Garuda Projecting 80% Load Factors on New Jakarta-Amsterdam Service During Busy July Period.
(6/26/2010) Bisnis.com reports that three weeks into the re-launch of Garuda Indonesia's Jakarta-Amsterdam service load factors are running at 70%.
The commercial director of Garuda, Agus Priyanto, predicts that load factors on the new European route will reach 80% in July.
Garuda re-commenced its Jakarta-Amsterdam service with an intermediate stop in Dubai on June 1, 2010.
A number of new players in Indonesian aviation, including Lion Air, Batavia Air and Indonesia AirAsia have all been reported as eyeing European routes subject to their names being removed from an a "no-fly" list issued by the European Union of airlines considered as failing to meet international safety standards.
Dutch arrivals to Bali for the first four months of 2010 increased 48.05% over the first four months of 2009, totaling 24,252. This contrasts with arrivals to Bali from Europe as a whole, which decreased 34.51% for the same period.
2009 arrivals to Bali from The Netherlands hit 74,403 - an increase of 14.12 over 2008.
